Curtain Walling and Shopfronts

Facades that frame the building.

Stick-built and semi-unitised curtain walling plus shopfront systems for commercial buildings.

Impala Fabricators · Nairobi

A glass facade is only as good as its framing.

Curtain walling and shopfronts shape how a commercial building looks from the street and how it performs inside.

Aluminium framing comes from our workshop and glass from Impala Glass, so the facade is one package under one point of accountability.

Facade Approach

Stick-built or semi-unitised?

Both deliver an aluminium and glass facade. The difference is where the work happens.

01

Stick-Built

Mullions and transoms erected and glazed on site. Flexible, and able to follow irregular geometry.

  • Offices
  • Showrooms
  • Facades
02

Semi-Unitised

Partly fabricated and glazed in the workshop, then fixed on site. Less site time, tighter quality control.

  • Mid-rise offices
  • Retail facades
03

Shopfront

Narrow-sightline framing that maximises glass at street level.

  • Retail
  • Malls
  • Banks
Frequently Asked Questions

Before you specify, know what to expect.

Quick answers for this system.

What is the difference between stick-built and semi-unitised?

A stick-built wall is assembled on site. A semi-unitised wall is partly fabricated and glazed in the workshop first, which shortens installation.

Can doors and vents be built into a curtain wall?

Yes. Stick-built systems can include sliding doors, casement vents and shopfront glazing in the same aluminium grid.

Why use narrow-sightline framing?

Slimmer aluminium means more glass at street level, which keeps the focus on the display.
